On August 5, 2011, Howard Cohen obtained an acquittal for an individual charged with Impaired Driving by Drugs. The trial lasted for six days and was marked by complex expert evidence. To the extent of our knowledge, it is one of the few cases charging impaired by drugs that have been recently tried following changes to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada, allowing police officers to conduct Field Sobriety Tests and evaluations when drug use is suspected.
